I went to see Depeche Mode at Red Rocks a couple of nights ago. Being the first fall outing of the season and the venue, I figured I would sport some jeans instead of what’s been my summer uniform for the last 3 months: shorts and a t shirt. I pulled out a favorite pair of 7 for All Mankind… threw them on and proceed to finish getting ready for the concert. Half way through straightening my hair, I started feeling like something was off – my jeans felt well… tighter than usual *gasp*. Panicking, I pulled them back off and jumped on the scale. Ok so I hadn’t gained any weight… whew – so what’s going on? I pulled the damn things back on and after taking a deep breath, started to reassess. No problems putting them on, button up just fine, in fact may feel a little looser in the hip than usual… so the problem… my quadriceps. They were seriously filling out the legs in my jeans and I could feel it.

I mean it shouldn’t come as a surprise as my quads have looked kinda large in the last few race pictures – I was proud of the muscles in my legs… until I had to cram them into my jeans that is.
I wore the jeans to the concert anyway and eventually I got used to the sensation created by the battle of quads vs. denim and it was a great night overall. I don’t have these problem with all my jeans (and I have a lot of jeans) since the way the leg is cut is different in each – but these particular jeans definitely brought to attention the change in my leg shape. Most of my life, I had the skinny-ish legs…oh well. I am good with it.…I may not have the skinniest legs but they are strong and they can be fast (well fast for me). I just may have to move somewhere warm and sunny so I can trade in my jeans collection for an assortment of shorts and skirts
